Hello! My name is Zoë Williams and I am YOUR Miss CSHA for 2008. I am 16 years old. I am a Junior at Alhambra High School, where I enjoy playing piccolo in the marching band, playing oboe in the concert band, taking AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP English, and being the captain of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team. I have my student pilot’s license and am in Pony Club and 4-H.
I really love to do every thing with my horses! I mainly ride English Flat, but also enjoy sorting cattle, riding western pleasure, trails, doing hunter/jumper, parades and running a little gymkhana. I hope to start reining too! I have an 11 year old black quarter horse mare named Maid by Sug (we call her Sugar), who does everything! She has won many titles for me, but most importantly has taught me to have fun and value the friendship we have over any blue ribbon. I also have a 9 year old chestnut thoroughbred mare named Teolawki (The End Of Life As We Know It), but we call her Loki. She is an ex-race horse and a bit of a project, but I have taken her to several schooling shows and she is doing well so far!
I have been all over the state as Miss CSHA. I have been up to region 13 (Eureka), and down to Pomona (L.A.) for the Equine Affair Expo, not to mention parades, region meetings, award banquets, grand entries, and color guard at the Cow Palace. We have also been to the Sacramento Horse Expo, Day at the Races and so much more! I am honored to have represented CSHA at the state level twice. Once as Jr. Miss in 2006 and now as Miss in 2008.
I have so many people to thank for getting me here today. So here is a HUGE THANKS to my parents, my region 5 family, the state royalty committee, our “Royalty Mom” Linda Jacobson, my 2008 State Royalty Court, my trainer Kim Yarosh, my friends, all my sponsors and of course my beautiful horses.
If you have any events that you would be interested in having the 2008 State CSHA Royalty attend please contact the State Royalty Committee on the CSHA royalty home page. If there are any questions I can answer or things I can help you with please contact my chaperone at Lazro@scbglobal.net
Remember that you can do anything (especially with a horse by your side) that you work at and have fun doing. Sometimes life seems like a bronc ride, but all you have to do is hang on in those 8 second rough patches and for those times you fall off you learn something you can fix the next time you get back on.
Saddle up, pull on some wranglers, and happy trails!
