How our program works. CSHA offers a competitive program covering Halter, English, Western and Reining competitions. The exhibitor must register as a horse and rider or handler combination with their Region and compete there to qualify for year end awards and eligibility to compete at the Show of Champions. At this time competition is offered in the following categories.
Halter
Junior Horse ( 5 years & under) with Amateur or junior handler. *
Senior Horse (6 years & over) with Amateur or junior handler. *
Open (any age horse) with an Open Division handler. *

*All riders or handlers over the age of 18 must have a current amateur card
**The Open Division is open to any adult or junior who wishes to compete in this division including those who cannot qualify for an amateur card.
Region 4 has an excellent high point program. Our riders do well at local shows and have won the Team Trophies numerous times at the Show of Champions.
The Region 4 official show season runs from January 1 to September 15 of each year. Participates attend Region 4 approved shows throughout the season and accumulate points at each show.
Each season our approved shows range from 10 to 15 numbers with a minimum attendance required for year-end awards.
