CSHA REGION IV
CHECK POLICY

If a check issued by or for a participant in a Region IV High Point Program either for registration in a program or at an Approved Show is not honored by the bank the following actions will be taken:
  1. Written notification of the check’s failure to clear the bank shall be sent to the
    person writing the check with a copy to the participant. Such notification shall
    be sent with a Delivery Confirmation form attached.
    a. If written at a show, this is the Show Sponsor’s responsibility.
    b. If written for registration, this is the program chairperson’s responsibility.
  2. The program chairperson shall be notified of the check’s return and notify the other
    show sponsors. The participant shall be placed on a “cash only” basis at all shows
    until the check is cleared.
  3. The first time a check is not honored by the bank the participant will receive a warning.
    Any recurrence may result in loss of points and credit for shows ridden.
  4. If restitution (cash, money order, or cashier’s check is not made within fifteen (15) days
    from the date the written notification is mailed, the participant’s points from the show at
    which the check was issued shall be forfeited. The show will not be counted for year end
    awards or State Championship Show/Event qualification.
  5. If restitution is not made within thirty (30) days all points and show credits from the
    date of issuance shall be forfeited.
  6. If after thirty (30) days the check has still not been cleared the participant shall be
    dropped from the program with no refund of any fees.
  7. If the returned check has not been cleared at least seven (7) day prior to the start of
    the State Championship Show/Event the participant shall forfeit their right to compete
    at the show/event.
  8. Region Year-End Awards shall be held until the check clears. All awards are forfeited
    if the check has not been cleared by December 1.
  9. If a check from a prior season or the State Championship Show/Event has not been
    cleared the participant will be denied registration in the current year’s programs until
    the check and all fees have been cleared.
  10. The Region IV return check charge is $20 ( In accordance with the California Civil Code,
    damages maybe recovered not to exceed three time the amount of the check or $1,500).
