2007 CSHA Drill Team Competition
Congratulations to all the teams and individual riders who participated in the CSHA Drill Team Competition at the Diamond Bar Area in Ceres, CA on Saturday May 5, 2007. The extreme wind was a challenge that you and your horses were able to overcome; and for safety reasons, the decision was made that teams would not carry flags.

Thank you to the judges: Patti Souza, Alice Lawellin, and Diane Hernandez, to the Royalty in attendance, Jr. Miss CSHA, Jordene Burns and Little Miss CSHA, Lindsey Michels, and to Shane Parson and Kim Lislie for the use of the Diamond Bar arena for the competition, and for the incredible Friday night Bar-B-Que, and meals on Saturday.
I have had a lot of positive feedback on the new rule changes this year that made for multiple divisions and multiple opportunities to ride, and the short/long program format. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the CSHA Drill Team Competition, please get in touch with me. Bob Lorbeer, CSHA Drill Team Committee Chair Lorbeer-R@Prodigy.net
CSHA Royalty helping out at the competition. Jr. Miss CSHA Jordene Burns talking with the Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team about the CSHA Royalty program, Jordene also served as a Judge's Clerk during the competition and Little Mis CSHA, Lindsey Michels helping out with time keeping. They both also assisted with the awards presentation....and special thanks to both moms for bringing them and also helping out with the competition.
From Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team
The Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team just wanted to send a big "THANK YOU" to Bob Lorbeer and CSHA for putting on a great 2007 Drill Team competition. Due to your hard work the competition ran smoothly, the facility management had wonderful hospitality, and every team put on a wonderful and creative drills. This is an event competitive teams in California should not miss.
We had to battle some elements like rain through our Friday practice and some howling winds Saturday that grounded all of our flags for the competition, but none of it dampened the spirits of the teams in attendance. The ability to sit with judges after the competition for a constructive critique is very helpful. The new format was fun, and the theme event sure lightens the mood in contrast to the old inspection. We are still trying to figure out how the California Rhythm Riders were able to "Clown" around in the wind with those gigantic hats and big floppy shoes. Well done CSHA and attending teams!
